7/24/25 - Fishing Report
As we approach the end of July and approaching the beginning of August, fishing enthusiasts should head over to Lake Purdy in Birmingham, AL.
The water temperature is around 90 degrees, especially in the shallow waters.
This means that the catfish are biting and ready to eat.
Fishermen are using worm and livers to catch them.
Bass are biting around 10 to 15 ft, the bigger bass are close to 20 ft. The bass are biting crankbaits, Shakey heads.
The water is down around 6 to 8 ft. Meaning the fish are moving towards the deeper part of the lake.
Although crappie can be a little challenging to pattern, anglers can still spot them on the graph.
With the hotter weather the crappie are staying deep.
